Having problems with static eletricity this winter? Here are a couple of tips to try to get rid of this very common winter problem. Addressing the first reason, dryness, you need to invest in a hydrating shampoo and conditioner for the winter months. Cheeky Strut offers several great options
by L'Oreal, Aquage and Pureology.
The next step is to get a deep conditioning mask by L'Oreal to use once a week to put moisture back into your hair. If you feel those are too heavy for your hair try one of our great leave-on treatments instead.
After styling hair, use a smoothing styler or styling gel to hold hair in place. Do not try to hold it in place with hairspray on an over staticky day, this will only make it worse!
If all of this hasn't done the trick, or you are doing this already, you may be using too much product period. Either way, try lightly running a dryer sheet over your head and watch the static go away, it's amazing. Be careful not to over do it though, it can also make your hair greasy.
Now, if you try this and it doesn't work, then you have the opposite problem...you have too much product in your hair! there is a thin line between good and too much! Clarifying shampoo is something we swear by at Cheeky Strut! Your hair is becoming brittle and staticky because your other shampoo and conditioner isn't washing away all the gunk you have on your scalp. Starting your daily ritual with clarifying and letting it sit for 3 minutes, rinse and start with your new moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Hopefully this has helped all of you static sufferers out there! If you have tried all of these things and are still having troubles, call us at Cheeky Strut and set up a consultation. We will be able to work with you to find a resolution.
